Shildon Railway Museum

Year 2 travelled to Locomotion in Shildon to find out more about George Stephenson.  When we arrived at Locomotion, we were amazed at all of the huge trains.  We started out visit by making a train out of paper. We had to use our scissors skills to carefully cut it out before sticking it down and colouring it in.  We then moved on to handle artefacts and look at pictures that told us more about Stephenson's first railway.  Our final activity before lunch, was a role play activity.  We all got dressed up in hats and got to wave flags. After lunch, we completed a picture trail before we made the long journey back to school.
