The Shipley Art Gallery - The children in Year 1 visited the Shipley Art Gallery, they explored the exhibitions and then spent time making their own sun catchers to help enhance the art galleries garden. The children can't wait to visit again!

Summer Term - Please take a look at some of the wonderful Art, Craft and Design our children have been creating. As you can see, we have some budding artists at Brighton Avenue Primary School.

Winter Wellness Project - Shipley Art Gallery

1st March 2021

The children were asked to take part in the Winter Wellness Project ran by Shipley Art Gallery. It was a collaborative project involving schools and our local community, asking them to reflect and represent how they felt during lockdown using a variety of media. Some of the final pieces have been displayed in the online exhibition.

Monday 16th November  - An Art lesson in a box

Year 5S were lucky enough to be asked to take part in the project 'An Art lesson in a box', designed by BALTIC freelance artist, Louise Bradley.

The children were provided with the resources and then asked to follow the art lesson via video link.

The aim of the lesson was to make a concertina book.

Let's take a look at their creations...

Saturday 24th October - Some of our children visited Shipley Art Gallery with their families to take part in cyanotype printing. The children made beautiful bunting to display in the galleries art garden.

A trip to the Hatton!

Thursday 7th November 2019

Today, Miss Simblet took a number of children from Y1-6 to visit the Hatton Gallery. We were very lucky to be able to see the special Roy Lichtenstein exhibition and also have a go at re-creating some of his artwork. We had an amazing afternoon and would love to go back!
