GDPR

Brighton Avenue Primary School holds and processes personal information for each pupil and information on parents.  We do so in order to provide an education and a safe environment for each child and to comply with the law regarding data sharing under the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and "Article 6" and "Article 9" of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

 

Article 6 (GDPR) condition: Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the data controller is subject.

Article 9 (GDPR) condition: For substantial public interest on legal basis.

 

Where the data processed is to enhance the educational provision, but is not a key element of providing an education, we will seek consent from a parent. This includes:

 

  • Photos, images and videos to be displayed in school and on the school website. Images are stored on the school's secure network and are appropriate. If a parent or child objects to a photo, it will be removed.
  • Additional contact information.
