Opening Hours

It is expected that all mainstream state-funded schools should provide a school week of at least 32.5 hours by September 2024.

The 32.5 hour minimum expectation includes the time in each day from the official start of the school day (i.e. morning registration) to the official end to the compulsory school day (i.e. official home time). The 32.5 hour minimum includes breaks and lunch times as well as
teaching time and any extra-curricular activities that all pupils are expected to attend. It does not include optional before or after school provision.

As a school we are already offering 32.5 hours per day.

Our opening hours for 2023/24 academic year are as follows:

Breakfast Club starts at 8.00am for those children who have been allocated a place.  Breakfast Club takes places in the community room (with the exception of Nursery which will be in the Nursery class) -  please enter through the old main entrance.  The doors for breakfast club will close at 8.20am.

Nursery AM Session 8.30am to 11.30am.

Nursery PM Session 12.15pm to 3.15pm

For the rest of school the day starts at 8.35am when the children can start entering their classroom.  The children will be registered as they enter and the school bell sounds for the start of the school day at 8.45am.

All children should be in their class by 8.45am when the door will be locked.

Registration takes place from 8.35am and the register will close at 9.15am.

The school day ends at 3.15pm for the Whole School

The total time amounts in a total week to 32.5 hours.

Morning Break

At  10.45am the children have a morning break and return to the class to start lessons at 11.00am.

Lunch

From Jan 2024, lunchtime is staggered in our school.

Children in Reception have their lunch between 11.30 and 12.30.

Upper Key Stage 2 have their lunch between 11.40 and 12.40.

Lower Key Stage 2 have their lunch between 12.05 and 12.55.

Key Stage 1 have their lunch between 12.00 and 1.00

Afternoon Break

Key Stage 1 children have an afternoon playtime from 2.40 – 2.50pm.

Before and After School

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged to collect their child from the classroom. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

Travelling to School

Walking to and from school is definitely the best option. There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations.  If you do need to travel by car, please park carefully as the safety of our children is of paramount importance.

Afterschool Clubs

All clubs finish at 4.15pm unless otherwise stated.
