That History Bloke

After Richard heard that we were learning about the Ancient Greeks, he came to visit us. He came dressed as an Ancient Greek and brought lots of interesting things with him for us to look at. He had armour, pots, instruments and writing tools. We used the writing tools to write our names using the Greek alphabet.

If You Care Share

Matthew, from the If You Care Share charity, came to see us. We talked about our emotions and how we can control them. Matthew taught us that mental health, keeping a healthy mind, is just as important as physical health, keeping a healthy body. We learned that it is O.K not to feel happy all of the time and Matthew gave us some tips on controlling our anger; taking deep breaths, asking for time to think, using a stress ball, exercising and physical activity and even shouting into a pillow.

Party Bus!

We are so lucky! This terms attendance trip was a session on the Party Bus. We have had so much fun dressing up with wigs and glasses and showing off our dance moves. Miss Dalley and Mrs Cummings joined in too!

The Book Bus

Excitingly, the Book Bus visited our school today. We were very eager to board and take a look around the variety of fiction and non-fiction books.

World Book Day

School Library

Mrs. Cummings took us to the school library this week. She explained how the books were organised and how we could use this to find certain books more easily. This came in useful as she gave us a list of books to find. We learned about the Dewy System and used it to help us put the non-fiction books back.

Destination Judo

We enjoyed an energetic taster of Judo when the Destination Judo instructors came to show us some moves!

Bring Your Grown up to School Day

Our adults were tested when they came to Year 3D! Miss. Dalley had found lots of fun and exciting ways to practise our times tables and we got to share them with our grown ups.

Christmas Party Day

Joining in with the KS2 Christmas party was amazing!! Singing, dancing, eating and even a few games kept us all in Christmas spirit.

Merry Christmas!

Golden Time - Calendars

We enjoyed making 2019 calendars as part of our golden time this week.

Children in Need

To raise money for Children in Need, we all came into school dressed in spots. We took part in the Pudsey parade and a special visitor came to see us! We loved meeting Pudsey! For Golden Time, our School Councillors organised some fun activities related to Children in Need. We especially loved playing Pudsey Bingo.

Kathleen Harrison Visit

Kathleen Harrison, a former pupil, came into school to speak to us this week. She told us all about what life at Brighton Avenue used to be like in the 50's. We enjoyed hearing that she used to go home at lunch time, she didn't have a uniform and the school used to be a completely different building!

Odd Sock Day - Friendship Week

Remembrance Day Poppies

In school, we have been talking about how we remember veterans of the World Wars. As part of our Golden Time activities, we made remembrance day poppies using clay. We had so much fun and got a little messy - all while practising our fine motor skills of course!

Team Building

We had lots of fun taking part in a carousel of activities in the hall. Some of us were very tired after them!

Harvest Festival

To celebrate Harvest we visited Rev. Meg at St.Chad's Church and performed our Harvest songs. We have been collecting food donations to share with our local food banks.
