Calling all Scullery Boys and Girls!
In the frosty January air, our Year 6 children got to experience what it would have been like to work for a farmer and his family in Pockerley Manor, Beamish. The children were asked to bake ginger biscuits, sweep the floor of the scullery, create sweet smelling lavender bags and make animal fat candles. Once all the tasks were completed, the master was so impressed, he would like to have kept them all on! It's fair to say some children weren't to happy about this; especially due to the early starts and little pay! A good effort everyone!
