In Geography we have been exploring the African landscape. We looked at pictures from Kenya and discussed what we could see.
In History this week we have been looking at Grace Darling. We looked and why she is famous and why we should remember her.
In this weeks Computing lesson Year 1 have been learning to use a track pad on the laptops. They found this found this very tricky but were able to make the eyes on a monster move by moving the cursor with the track pad.
In PSHE+C we have been looking at how we should treat each other. We drew around a body and talked about how we could hurt each other. We then talked about what the right thing to do would be.
In R.E we have been looking at why we should be thankful at Christmas.
In music we have been practicing to play the glockenspiel to help us keep the pulse.
In Art, we have been exploring landscape paintings from Norwegian artists. We have been looking at the the different colours used and how we could create them. We have started to create our own Winter landscapes using water colours. This is the first stage, keep looking back to see our final product.
In Geography, we have been learning all about the country of Norway. We chose this country because the film Frozen was set there. We worked as a class to create a travel book to tell people all about the country.
We have been learning about Remembrance Day and why we celebrate it. The children found out about poppies and why we wear them in November. As part of our fine motor activities in golden time we made our own poppies.
