Eden CampA former POW Camp in North Yorkshire that houses a fantastic WWII museum
To start this term's history topic - The Battle of Britain - we visited Eden Camp in North Yorkshire and had an amazing day of fun and learning.
Mr Oakes, a science teacher from Emmanuel College, has been to visit us in school. We learnt many things, from molecules to the digestive system and how our heart works. We are looking forward to visiting Emmanuel College ourselves.
Y5M had an amazing day at the Life Center, we all became scientists for a day!
Destination Judo. Today we had a visit from a Judo coach. We had great fun and learnt how to hold an opponent down.
We entered the ancient world of the Shang Dynasty, when we visited Durham University's oriental museum. We had a great day learning to write using ancient Shang symbols, becoming detectives, searching for artifacts in the museum, taking part in role play about the demise of the last Shang king and we even designed and made our own bronze pots.
Year 5M visited a local care home to sing for the residents. The favourite song for both adults and children was Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer!
We visited the library and became code breakers for the day!
Year 5M had a taster day at Kingsmeadow school. As you can see, we had great fun!
Rosie, a historian, visited us to help us learn more about women in history. We had lots of fun along the way!
