Week commencing 20/6/2022 Pupil of the Week

Phew! It's been scorching this week. We have had to remember to stay well hydrated! We have also had some birthdays this week!

Making the most of the warm weather! We also had a music recital from the bigger children in the hall.

We planted our sunflower seeds. We hope that they will grow!

Jubilee Stay and Play. It was so nice to be able to have parents in school again after all this time. Our caterpillars had all turned into butterflies and Lanarose got the job of helping to release them. We all had a great morning and then went in for picnic lunch where we had a special visitor!

Week commencing 9/5/2022 Pupil of the week.

We had a great time on our trip to Gibside. We played in the Strawberry Castle play area, had lunch and then looked for bugs and minibeasts. Some found it quite tiring!

Week Commencing 2/5/2022. We had great fun with the football coach. It was tricky and we had to listen well to follow the instructions but it was brilliant.

Forest school fun! We also had the people from RISE North East talking to us about being kind. They helped us to draw pictures of times we were kind to others.

We love playing in our new rocket! In PE we practised moving and balancing in low shapes. In Forest School, we built an obstacle course independently and were very careful when we went along it.

Pancake Day. Of course Mr Cleeves had to drop one right at the end!

World Book Day

We had a visit from a theatre company on Friday. The children sat very well and could remember lots of details back in the classroom.

Week commencing 7/2/2022 Pupil of the Week

We were very busy in Muddy Monsters this week. We made our own paintbrushes and used them to paint with mud. We made our own charcoal on the fire and drew pictures. There were lots of other activities for us to get involved in!

Week commencing 31/01/2022 Pupil of the Week

We are getting really good at our sensory challenges in PE. We also found lots of objects in forest school.

Week commencing 24/01/2022. We went into Pupil of the Week assembly for the first time. Dorcas and Alfie got the first awards.

We celebrated Chocolate Cake Day (who knew there was such a thing!) by making chocolate cupcakes and decorating them.

Week commencing 17/1/2022. This week, we made our own ice lollies in Small Group and really enjoyed eating them! We had an assembly in the hall about mental health and sat really well. We found lots of objects in Forest School and had fun singing and playing instruments with Mr Parkin!

Week commencing 10/1/2022. We learned how to light a fire in forest school and then ate popcorn which had been cooked on it!

Week commencing 3/1/2022. Happy New Year everybody! It’s good to be back and the children have settled back in straight away.

Week commencing 13/12/2021 The children did so well singing their song in the hall for our carol service and some of them helped to tell the Nativity story. We also watched a live stream of a Panto (Oh no you didn't!).

Week commencing 6/12/2021. We have had a great time this week. We had Muddy Monsters, Christmas Party, Christmas Fair and Mr Parkin and his band for a Christmas concert! Wow!

Week commencing 29/11/2021 The children had a great time with the parachute in the hall. They had to synchronise their actions and listen to instructions. They have also liked playing with skittles in class. Great for counting practise!

Week commencing 22/11/2021. We did a great job of making homes for animals on Treetop Tuesday! We worked in groups and then went to see what the others had done. We also went into the hall for our first assembly. The children were fantastic! They sat well and listened.

Week commencing 15/11/2021 We enjoyed being leaf detectives on Treetop Tuesday. We had to find leaves to match the ones in the pictures. We did tasting in Small Group. See if you can tell which ones are tasting lemon! And it was Children in Need Day.

Week commencing 8/11/2021 We celebrated Diwali this week. We made Diwa lamps and Rangoli patterns. We also had non-uniform day!

Week commencing 1/11/2021 What a busy week! We enjoyed the sensory equipment in PE. We had a walk up to the top field to look at Autumn change (and run around). We had Mr Parkin for singing and we had a Nurse come in to tell us all about her interesting job. Phew!

Week commencing 18/10/2021. We have been doing lots of Halloween activities this week in anticipation of Halloween being in the holidays. We also went to the Alive church for Harvest Festival. It was a long walk but the children managed brilliantly and then sang their song really well with actions.
