Reception F
Welcome to Reception, for some children the beginning of their schooling. We understand that this can be an exciting but nerve wracking time for both children and parents. Through this stage of their learning journey, the children will be learning through a balance of child-initiated play, carefully supported by knowledgeable staff and adult-initiated small group activities. They will be busy exploring and discovering exciting activities, both in and out of the classroom, including visits and visitors.
This website, Weduc and Tapestry, will keep you updated on all aspects of your child’s learning.
Our Harvest Festival Song
We have been so busy already in Reception, we have explored Forest School with Phill from Muddy Monsters, in maths we learned about matching and sorting and have explored some measuring learning new vocabulary. In small group we learned how to use the areas of learning and shared some photographs from home, talking about the past.
Settling into Reception- In our first few weeks we have been settling into the environment and building new relationships. In small group time we have been learning how to play in the different areas and how to tidy up when we have finished. We have started with some early maths and literacy activities, wow it's been so busy already. I wonder what else we will get up to in Reception!
