Super Shang Dynasty Historians!
Wednesday 16th January 2019
Today, in our History lesson, we continued our learning based around the Shang Dynasty. In this lesson, we were learning how the Shang began and to do that, we had to look at a lot of sources. We discussed why the validity and reliability of sources is important and carried out a hot seating activity to help us understand this. We hot seated the characters of Jie and Tang, who were the rulers of the Shang and Xia dynasty, and also a historian. We fired interesting questions at the characters in order to help us understand how opinion can change facts and reliability of sources.
We had such fun doing this and got right into character!!
Parliament Week!
Thursday 22nd November 2018
We linked our PSHE+C session with our English lessons this week as we took part in a parliament activity. We were thinking about becoming campaigners and influencing others and how we could achieve this. We began our session by warming up our voices as this was a speaking and listening lesson and we did this by rehearsing some toungue twisters. We then began to think about choosing our motion for debate which was 'Every child should have their own iPad or computer for school and home'. We discussed how important the motion for debate was and come up with some fantastic ideas thinking about who it would benefit and why we believed it was so important! We then worked in groups to create an attractive poster to advertise our campaign and come up with our own slogans also!
We love a morning boogie in 5S!
Wednesday 21st November 2018
In our class, we understand the importance of keeping fit and active and we have been helping ourselves do so by taking part in short physical activities. We have found that taking part in these short bursts of activity helps us to concentrate more in our lessons. We normally start our day off with a short guided dance routine and a good stretch to really set us up to have a fantastic day! We have been doing activities such as Zumba, workouts, breathing activities, stretching routines and much more. We have such fun doing this!!
Take a look for yourself...

For our Golden Time today, we decided to further improve our fine motor skills by practicing the glockenspiel. We are learning to sing the song 'Livin' on a prayer' in our music lessons so we decided to try and play along to some of the notes in the song using the instruments. We learnt to recognise, read and play notes such as G, A and B. We had such fun doing this - just listen to how fantastic we are!
